It's just ending the summer of 2010 and I was sorting through some old pictures. When I came across these 2 pictures, I thought - this was a fun summer, 1960. Then I realized that was 50 years ago! Wow.
What I remember is renting a trailer and we even took our dog, Pip, along with us. These pictures are of Big Sur but then we journeyed to Lake Tahoe. I think this is when Mom took along all of her ironing she needed to get done - whether she finished it or not, I don't remember, but she was teased about it.
I remember trying out a kayak and felt stupid I couldn't paddle it correctly. We must of stopped by different sites along our journey because I found some pictures of me by a BIG tree. There were a lot of fireworks at one point of our vacation because Pip had a really hard time with that. This is when Mom decided that if our Ford could make this trip, it could definitely make a trip to Ohio the following year.
Judy & Jill would probably have lots of different memories of this vacation because I think they went to dances or something, but myself being 10, I stayed with Mom, Dad & our dog, Pip!
